ElM, Graeme Hart is a nice bloke and his wife Robyn is very nice. I don't know them, but they used to go to a cafe, "Benediction" where one of our daughter's worked.

Melissa knew them as regulars. Our family is not impressed by money and it used to amuse me how she treats such people as though they were regular people. She didn't have a clue who he is and didn't really care. Robyn was quite friendly with Melissa and they got on well.

Benediction was a "cool" place. I'm insensitive to things like that don't know what made it fashionable. Our son was there with me in its early days and he met a friend there, "Scrap", an artist. Tarken commented that if Scrap was there, this was a cool place and would do well. So it did.

I think it must be that Geoff Chunn owned Benediction and his brother was in Split Enz [a NZ band] en.wikipedia.org and Geoff played in it a bit. That's a band famous in NZ.

Graeme Hart plays "investor" like other people play golf. He loves to get a hole in one as golfers do, but he's prepared to work like Tiger Woods to achieve it. He's a good bloke. The money is the scorecard. Robyn leaves him to play golf while she does her thing. They have the swankiest house and a big boat of course.

He had a Tin Cup episode en.wikipedia.org a few years ago when one of the investments took him right back down and he kept blasting away until he got out and went on to huge success.

It's a bit silly how they say "ex tow truck driver", because we all start somewhere. It wasn't that he was a towie then hit some jackpot. I've had lots of jobs but that doesn't make me an "ex truck and van driver", "wharfie", "furniture removals", "warehouse worker", "building labourer", "concrete worker", "spray painter", "machinist", "laboratory technician", "delivery man", "typing checker", "old label remover", "scaffolder", "railway loader", "beer deliverer", "hay loader", "newspaper boy", "bottle recycler", "handicapped driver/supervisor", fork lift driver, barman/waiter, hmmm, I have had a range of jobs now that I think about it. My best paid one is "capital supervisor".

There's a bit of Kiwiana for you on Xmas eve.

Merry Xmas,
Mqurice
