JDN,

Let me tell you my real estate problems. I have a family home to sell in Florida and Ohio. The Florida one is now offered at about 65% of what it would have sold for two years ago. I have no - no - offers or traffic. Florida is terrible.

The house in Ohio is not yet up for sale - no reason to hurry. That will go for 60% of what it was worth 2 years ago. So when I see housing prices are down small percentages I have to laugh. The statistic stinks. The prices would be even lower if the ask prices were moved to meet the current market.

On top of this we found out today what the house next door sold for this summer. That one went for about 55% of what it sold for about 4 years ago. Now it needed work and the people needed to sell - so - that explains some.

All in all I would say housing prices are down 35 - 40% - at least in Ohio and Florida.

Bob
