They are hard to read by and dim with age. In my experience they don't last as long either. I've used these bulbs for 8 years. All bought at Home Depot. My electric bill is rarely above $45, unless I'm running air conditioning. Modest size house, three people. I don't remember one burning out, although one may have. They take a little time to reach full intensity, but other than that... ARS
