read the chapter about perfect parenting in "Freakonomics". The kid IS. There is not much one can do about once he/she IS.

I kept looking for signs in Experiment of what she really IS.

There are two signs I look in a kid:
-- If is sloppy
-- If has no alertness.

Kid sloppy? =doomed
Was playing Monopoly. The figure that she moved was losing the foot. Got up got tape glued together.

Kid lacks alertness =doomed

We were in Esfahan Summer 2005.
Horse carts loop around the big plaza carrying tourists.
We all tired under +41C.
(Track these 2 seconds)
Heard horse trotting. Sound of iron horseshoe on stones coming from behind.
Little kid -son of our friend- across horse cart path hidden behind bushes.
I turn looking to horse cart coming to measure speed ready to dart across and hold kid not to move.
As I turned to kid, Luisa was darting across, stopped, grabbed kid.
I lift the palm of my hand to show she should hold still, horse cart passed.

No one had time to utter a single word.

They talked "I just saw it..." "How did he get there?"

There was no time to do anything.

It is printed in my brain the event. I relaxed. She's got what it takes.

I recall the boy was afraid of water. Perhaps she got the feeling she was the protector of the little kid.

Or maybe it was taught early enough that they had to take care of the smaller kids.
