I thought you were in Washington state and now I see you are in the Northeast. What state may I ask?

Home heating oil is going the way of the dinosaur. what to do about retrofitting those old houses is another matter. A lot of the new builders have solar on the roof already installed. Lennar seems like the leader and it is one of the only things that is actually helping sell houses out here in CA.

Years ago the old houses in CA were built with electric, baseboard heating. These were the cheap Eichlers which are these flat roof things built to look like Frank Lloyd right. Most of those have been retrofitted with forced air heat now but the reason for electric baseboard in the first place was it was cheap to install and reasonably priced once. Seems like solar roofs might cause a resurgence for that type of heat. I actually like it because the floor is warm and the heat rises and it doesn't circulate the air all around causing dust, plus it is quiter.
