"We've been the "dominant species" for like 4,000 years. A blink of an eye, relative to the earth..."

We're very virus-like, compared to the planet. We're eating it. We cant' control our aggregate. Many of us can't control ourselves. So, like a deadly virus attacking an organism, we NEED to be able to spread to other organisms (planets), to avoid doom ourselves.

But, we're intelligent. So, theoretically, in time, we may be able to control our aggregate. We may be able to live on the planet in such a way that we CONTRIBUTE to it's health, and provide for it's well-being.

Or both. Let the eaters spread, while the self-changers stay.
Evolve.
