Several things that you say are either not true... or else not applicable to this particular governmentally banned substance:

Re: "Independent research is done right here in the good old USA,"

Yes. (But, as I also pointed out - most private medical research is clearly driven by the profit motive.. and that is largely absent when dealing with herbal preparations or other 'natural' substances... which are non-patentable under the US system....)

Re: "... they just have to get a permit from the USDA and the security of the field and lab has to be inspected by the government."

Not true.

DEA permit is REQUIRED to be issued FIRST or else no research is legal. No other federal agency can issue a permit UNTIL and UNLESS the DEA permits *first*.

(Secondly, as I also pointed out, government is REQUIRED to source the samples. If they say it's 'unavailable' then that's it. If what they supply to the labs is inappropriate quality, as some researchers have alleged, then that's it for the study....)

Re: "...But even if you say was true (its totally fabricated)"

Sorry, Hugh. Every word I said is FACT. Not imagination.

(If you can show otherwise then PLS do so!)

Re: "... they could always do a study in a country where the drug is legal."

No, not really in practice.

A. Very few nations where it is 'legal'.

B. Illegal in the vast majority of the world (& certainly in the vast majority of developed nations where medical research is done). As I pointed out --- this system of international prohibition is enforced by the UN and a host of bilateral treaties....
