Yes CO2 absorbs three narrow bands of IR. And when it does in the first 10 meters of the atmosphere it becomes thermal energy that is wisked away on current of air and in the heat of vaporization of H2O. And if one doubles the amount of CO2 it would be absorbed in the first 5 meters of the atmosphere it becomes thermal energy that is wisked away on current of air and in the heat of vaporization of H2O.

the CO2 would create no new heat, just a no effect. That fact is also supported by the actual measurements vs the IPCC model prediction of a non existent mechanism AKA the global warming fairytale.
