Yes, my family says the same thing. The Surge is working. Let's dissect that for a second. All we have proven with the Surge is that if we put more American troops on the ground, we can tamp down the violence by quelling the insurgents. Was that ever in doubt? I wouldn't call that success, though. Success is measured by a country with a government that can rule and install order on its own. The Surge just proves that the Iraq government is no closer to standing on its own two feet. So forgive me for saying that the Surge is absolutely NOT working.

And why are we there now? I forget. The reasons for going and staying have been changing so often now, I can't even remember why we went there in the first place. This President has no goal and no plan to get there. We're going nowhere fast and spending alot of money to do it.
