its fighting wars in far off countries because the incumbent president believes its good for the country. I happen to disagree with the current president's thinking and judgement.

First in the case of Iraq, you ignore the Congressional resolution authorizing the war.

Hardly. Congress was the enabler after they got coerced into going along with Bush's nonsense. Besides what does that matter......Congress was controlled by the GOP and its ruling had no impact on my position at the time.

And most of the Democrats in Congress voted for the authorization. Anyway the Congressional authorization means its not just the President beliefs that mattered.

Second, you must not think 911 was an attack on the US homeland because our troops involvement in Afghanistan is a direct response to that attack. Afghanistan was the base of the terror group which attacked us on 911.

Yes, it is....so why are we in Iraq?

Don't change the topic. You included Afghanistan in the far off countries we're wrongly fighting wars in.

So was 911 an attack on the US homeland? If you admit it was, why are you opposed to us fighting back against that attack? You clearly think so, why won't you say so?

Second, killing is not all the military does.

That's right. It hands out chocolates to conquered children. Very cute!

Very snarky. Your contempt of the military comes through loud and clear.

My contempt is for the Pentagon white collar types who direct the military.

The ROTC you want to ban from universities aren't all "white collar types".
----------------------------------------------

Of course, the military does much more. For example, one little thing would be - the Army Corps of Engineers (dating from 1802) maintains the US navigable water ways. Also did you know the internet began as a Defense Dept communications project?

I never said the military is a bad thing......there is a place for it in any society but not to the degree it dominates the American society.

In what way is it dominating American society?
---------------------------------------

The US military dominance is the reason most of the world is at peace now. A very unusual situation in world history. If this period passes, everyone will look back on this as the good old days.

Horse shit!

We disagree.

44 states now have Baby Moses laws (copied from legislation enacted first in the primitive red state of TX).

Maybe publicity of the Baby Moses law will help. However, I suspect it won't......I think these girls feel so much shame and fear, they just want 'the problem' to go away asap without further effort on their part.

Well then we should be sure to not only make abortions available on demand to a young women with no parental approval or knowledge, we should also make them free to all too.

I don't think money is the deciding factor in many of these troubled births.

I don't money is the deciding factor in abortions either.
