Good evening Jas.
I have been turning the Samsung joint development agreement (per 10Q)over in my
mind for weeks...
The agreement is soooo powerful and I must thank you for adding the missing
piece...Ampex is not allowed to say anything!

Please,review:
Fact:
Samsung buys AST computer manufacturer in may or june 97.
Samsung buys MR heads from IBM in a contract may or june 97

Speculation:
Who/what is an AST computer:
Who make the disk drives? Samsung makes their own.
Who makes the media (platters)? I am led to believe a Japanese Co.
Who makes the heads (mr)? I believe IBM

In the food chain (percent of personal computer sellers) where is AST? I believe
number 5
Samsung has deeeeep pockets. Samsung wants more market share.

Fact:
Mr. Bransom, (per 10Q) has three interested parties in joint development negotiations
-
One remains uncomitted (so far),

One does not want to pay much or anything patented phoenomina "keepered media"
(so far)

One says " YESSSSS, here is your joint development agreement, "if" you (Ampex)
make "keepered" work with heads supplied from "our suppliers who's heads Ampex
has not yet tested". And, P.S. "...no publicity!"

Speculation: ...we step up to the plate and hit a grand slam...with

a) Samsung is about to blind side the number 1,2,3, or 4 maker of personal computers
b) The heads (MR) are IBM's so they are involved c) Ampex makes "keepered" work
and the product is on customers desktop in 1998, d) China is big untapped market to
dump computers, and dump we shall. e) digital patents for TV and broadcast (FOX)
start to payoff bigger and better starting Sept 98. f) DST starts to kick in 3rd quarter
'98 (I saw DST work in NYC and I believe...) g) long term (12 to 36 months) Ampex
is ramped up in these markets and then introduces new technology from the R&D
pipeline. h) one of the TFI drive manufacturers mentioned in the 10Q signs with
AMPEX ...remember one is said to produce drives for test purposes in 3 rd quarter.
