Thanks for the background. You also answered your previous question.

I have been a buy and hold investor who has sucked enough mostly long term gains out of the market for 15 years. I still work in technology but previously was a corporate accountant. The education helped me read and understand financial statements.

Like in gathering information for investing, discerning which insurers offer what level of service for what price can be done through various sources. I am surprised nobody has posted any links to sites that make shopping as easy as many other shopping experiences. Perhaps it has something to do with the Balkinization of the market into distinct state regulated markets.

A person could ask the sales representatives for each company. States could post information on their web sites about coverages and history of complaints for authorized procedures denied coverage. IMHO the best thing we could do to help contain insurance costs is by increasing competition. If states were allowed to regulate insurers based in their state but people in different states could buy from any company it would decrease the need for state regulator employees and increase competition which always seems to drive down costs.

"my background helps me understand whats going on in that arena"

There was a really interesting tutorial on 45 nanometer challenges posted on the Intel subject recently. It is a long read but informative and written so even I could understand almost all of it.

BTW: What do you think of the CFO change at BRKS? The market does not seem impressed or concerned.
