Do the calculations. For a large swath of the Southwestern USA, solar is already or will be within the next couple of years, cheaper than what they are paying the utility. We are on the cusp of a major change which will affect lots of corporations stock prices in the energy sector. Some postively, others rather negatively.

Oil at least has mobility on its side. Coal does not. Coal might have a longer term use with liquification. As stationary electric generation it is dead meat.
