The assassination Bhutto highlights in spectacular fashion the failure of two of President Bush’s main objectives in the region: his quest to bring democracy to the Muslim world, and his drive to force out the Islamist militants who have hung on tenaciously in Pakistan, the nuclear-armed state considered ground zero in President Bush’s fight against terrorism, despite the administration’s long-running effort to root out Al Qaeda from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

It all makes sense now, because Osama Bin Laden lives in and around Pakistan, and because the Taliban also live and thrive in that neck of the woods too, it made imminent sense to exit Afghanistan militarily (leaving the job undone and letting OBL go free) and instead go to war in Iraq. That's right! Osama Bin Laden kills thousands of Americans, lives with his Taliban friends in Pakistan/Afghanistan and we go to war in Iraq. Brilliant! Supersmart! Go for it. How many more Americans have died in Iraq since 9/11 and the murdering bastard OBL gets second seat to Saddam Hussien. At least Bush got those WMDs, huh! Right on... Oh, doesn't Pakistan have them too. Isn't Pakistan the friend of United States that shared its nuke technology with Iran, Lybia and North Korea and who knows where else. Mr. Bush can leave OBL for Hillary to deal with when she becomes President.
