I pointed out Bob, that it seems likely that Germany will be producing all the power it uses through wind and solar by 2020.
So, things CAN be done. If WE caused the problem, WE can create the solution.

If we can piss trillions of dollars down an Iraqi shithole that has absolutely no payback, we've obviously GOT resources to burn at the moment.

For that kind of cash, we could be installing photovoltaic arrays on every appropriate roof in America.
