It seems to me that that precision of measuring air temperatures is not all that far from the variations in air temperatures. It's not as though temperature changes are 20 degrees and the measurement error is 0.5 degrees. It's more like the error is about the same as variation, with a bias to warming in the measurement.

Anyway, he's a dinkum scientist, so it's not that his data and ideas are "doofus".
