Interesting thought. I have been watching Intel carefully for some four months and do not have a good feel for the current situation. I sold part of my 10/80s today as the result of the downturn. I do not know what Monday will bring. I have noticed great silence on this issue, although I suspect there is much silent hopefulness, and some not quite so silent. I have not read much good analysis. My sense of this is that earnings will be met but that will be it. Could you share with me your sense of what is likely to happen...all things being as they are - in other words no more downgrades etc. If there are no external events impinging on the stock, what is your sense of the situation.

I am thinking of buying puts to cover the rest of my short term position...they are all call options and selling the puts if the stock heads upwards. I have never hedged like this before, but since I do not see a blowout, I would not see an explosion one way or the other Wednesday, unless of course Intel does not make its numbers. I guess there is really no answer to these questions, so I am looking for a position that will be defensive and yet able to profit should the stock go up. By the bye, I have a good holding in long-term leaps about which I am not too worried.

If any of this makes sense to you and you have time to respond, I would appreciate hearing from you.
