We need the 'recognition' of a crisis to bring us together.

I think one can reasonably argue that the crisis is here.

Also, why do you worry with who the candidate is? It seems to me that you always should vote for the party that best reflects your beliefs and understanding of the issues and problems that face the country??????

The Republican and Democratic parties are totally different in their philosophies and approach to problem solving. Each has a different view of the role of government and this will always shape what the candidate does after election, don't you think, no matter what they say during the campaign.
