Go to an account in Quicken and click on the summary tab. The first column says "name". That's what I'm referring to. For instance, I have an account set up containing a single fund, "Vanguard GNMA". I have been reinvesting the dividends for years, so I have made a reinvestment purchase each month. After importing the old Quicken data file (from Quicken 2004 or 2005, I forget which) into Quicken 2007, I ended up with about half of the purchase showing up as "Vanguard GNMA" and about half of the purchases showing up as "SEC_1 Vanguard GNMA." It looks like it is two different securities in the same account, when it is actually only one. Best wishes, I2
