The chart in figure 1 did not come through on SI follow th link below and scroll down to the first chart.

This clearly disproves John Fowler's assertion that governments fund most medical research. I was surprised to learn that they do fund as much as they do, but that is still the minority. It does not address my assertion that US consumers foot the bill for most medical research. There is however tangential evidence that it is not far off base.

No other country approaches this amount in relative or absolute terms."
