Edwards might be able to carry Texas. He has amazing support in Oklahoma for instance. I saw the poll. It was an 80% approival rating. The religious right likes Edwards because he is a country family man and though he doesn't pander to Christian voters or wear a cross on his sleeve, you can tell he's a straight arrow who cares about folks as well as a hometown hero. Just the type these rural red state voters admire.

GW Bush you remember had to put on an act to get them behind him, pretending he's some kind of a good ole boy and faking his accent. In actuality, Bush may be a Big Oil whore, but he's all boots and no cowboy.

Also, do you believe Mitt Romney would appeal to those voters? He's a northeast establishment elitist preppie and a Mormon to boot. Two huge negatives for them. Plus who the hell really believes he is against womens reproductive rights? He was always pro-choice in Massachusetts until he started running for president and his handlers told him he had to be anti female reproductive rights. SO Romney is a liar. He also lied about going hunting. While Kerry really has hunted and knows firearms well, Romney never has but he claimed he's an avid hunter. So he's basically an empty suit phony. Edwards isn't though.

Edwards could win in a landslide, and if Bloomberg runs even bigger landslide. Edwards can also carry northern Florida moderate conservatives, so Florida is quite winnable even if Bloomberg sucks up some of the elderly Jewish vote.
