Poverty is way up under Bush, which creates more family problems including unwed mothers. Also contributing to that problem is the lack of good sex education programs and birth control information. You can thank the religious right for that debacle. Their push for "Abstinence Only" is a total failure and has actually increased unwed mothers and STD's.

Believe it or not the Bush recession and Bush corporate corruption meaning "the economy stupid", is now the #1 issue, and people want the kind of total change that the GOP cannot possible bring. While many rich folks and noxious special interests have done great under Bush-Delay the vast majority of Americans have not, and this doesn't even include the burden of having to pay off the trillions in Bush deficits which is the next problem.

Also very important and tied in to the economic problems is the lack of universal health care and the tripling of gas prices under Bush with no real Green Fuels programs to help us get off the Arab oil.

The GOP cannot say they are for family values while they reward the very rich and take from the middleclass and poor. If you want stronger families you have to have a more equitable economy which is for the people by the people, not just the richest and biggest. Bushies have helped average families in China and super rich ones on Park Avenue, but have shellacked them on Main Street.
