appeal and keep it quiet.

May be. But there remains the question of how we got here, now. 1998 was 10 years ago. It seems that a few years ago Broadcom Corporation got information that Qualcomm had embedded some of their property in Q's roadmap, probably in anticipation of a licensing agreement. Broadcom colluded with Q's antagonists, saw their advantage in this particular case, went for the jugular and appear to have snagged it.

We shareholders looked at that stupid $20 million and hit the spitoon with a cool clink. But we were kind of speechless to learn from Q that they had offered Broadcom a free pass... and that they walked. Must be boss Nokia's directive we figured. Besides, there's new stuff and they'll never be able to prove that Q didn't use those inventions accidently.... and so on.

Hey. Guess what. Q blew it, big.
