Dems just won a state senate special election in Dallas. Dallas and Houston are now Dem cointrolled, as well as Austin and San Antonio. The key is to get the rural folks to realize they've been backing corrupt scoundrels. The all-white suburbs too, if Edwards runs. After all, who is mkore revered in Texas than a handsome white quarterback hometown hero who looks like Dennis Quaid? Edwards might rock n' roll Texas.

Scott McClellan's Republican mother ran on the anti GOP corruption platform and Gov Perry was lucky to survive. The Tom Delay-Rev. Haggard-Dick Cheney style corruption has sickened most Texans, though it has enriched quite a few as well.

I can only tell you this. At a Christmas party in Houston about a dozen Repubs and me talked politics and not a single one of these Repubs backed Bush anymore. All the women backed Hillary. And the men said nothing as I explained why Bushies were not conservatives and why Edwards could unite the country. Even the GOP men did not disagree.
