Q had to certainly know this was coming. It is curious to me that Judge Selna waited until after market close on New Year's Eve to render this decision.

But Q knew they were found guilty of infringement of those 3 patents since May of 2007 and they now have 19 months with the January 2009 sunset( I believe they asked for 18 months) to find a workaround and if their highly paid engineers cannot accomplish this then they are not worth a tin nickel. So what if we pay BRCM 15 mil - the willful infringement was 38 mil and then reduced to 19 mil - in the interim. The worst part is the nagative press over and over again painting the boys at Q as infringers and Brcm as Mr. nice guys. How ironic.

The big problem seems to me the roadmap of new innovations that were not on the drawing board as of May 2007 when the verdict came down. How are these new products affected?
