What memories that brings. I got to meet the Kingston Trio circa 1959. My father's office was in Brookline, Ma. and there was a great deli called Jack & Marions. My Dad had lunch there every day and became friends with Jack. One day Jack introduced him to Stanley Blinstrub, who owned the most successful night club in Boston. My Father had lunch with Stanley two or three times a week. He got front and center seats at Blinstrub's whenever he wanted. One night at a celebration of my brother's high school graduation Connie Francis was the star, and after her first set she came down to our front table to have a drink with us. She was charming and quickly recognized that I was a shy young guy. She kept putting her hand on mine and asking me questions to draw me out. When she was about to go back on stage she asked if I had a request. I replied "Among My Souvenirs" It was the first song she sang, and when she was done she blew me a kiss. I nearly melted.
