Now that Brcm has shot it's last bullet and Qual. has announced the UMTS workaround and the workarounds for evdo, where does Brcm go from here? They achieve short term financial gain with very little hope of competing long term in the 3g market. As MQ stated the bar has been set for the pricing of chipsets that the EU will take into account when hearing the POS 6 complaint. Brcm is now an after thought except for the fact that we can unload on them if we so choose. Nokia has lost any leverage they had hoped to gain in reducing the rate they are charged by Qual. The court has decided that Qual offers their chipsets at very reasonable prices.
