The deflationists are the modern version of the flat earth society. They are incapable of grasping the implications of the US current account deficit, the impact the deficit has on the dollar, much less the inflationary implications for prices in US dollars. On the other hand, they are on record as saying they ignore prices because in the new flat earth society none of that matters -- "by definition" -- after all, why worry about the earth being round when you have defined it as flat? Just define inflation as a narrow measure of money supply and ignore prices -- a neat trick to pretend that rising prices have disappeared -- but also meaningless and absurd.
