It sounds like they have solved one of the thorny problems with x-ray, but certainly not the biggest problem.

Their product would be great if it could replace synchrotrons because it would make the initial cost of getting into x-ray litho much less prohibitive. Also, the idea of having one synchrotron ring supplying x-rays to 20 steppers is somewhat frightening. Imagine if that synchrotron goes down, all of your steppers go down with it. Having a stepper with its own x-ray source would be a big advantage.

They still havent solved the biggest problems with x-ray lighography.
Those are all associated with the reticles. The must be made with 5 times greater accuracy than stepper reticles. They also must be made of very fragile, exotic materials.

I still expect that optical lithography will be the big winner for the next decade. That's good for Cymer, since they are more or less a one trick pony.
