If the power figure really is max instead of average, then you would have to reduce the figure by over 50% given that the sun doesn't shine more often than that. Hum, my guess is they take night into account <g>. What's the 'true' cost of coal, oil or NG power plants? ----------------------------------- It would have to be rather high and quantifiable in order for current solar power technologies to make good economic sense. Until then, there is a lot of subsidizing going on. There is a lot of good science and economics going on Ten. It's not political, there are real quantitative decisions being made. It's good to be skeptical. But look at the whole picture... including the "hidden" costs of traditional energy production. And think about the future. What does it cost to be a follower instead of a leader? What's the economic cost if a company from some other country had developed the microprocessor, instead of Intel?
