RE "I did some buying today in TER, LSI, and ASYT."

I've had difficulty through two different brokers buying ASYT.
I do all my transactions online and was blocked by both Scottrade and Banc of America Investment Securities. Each required me to actually call and deal with a broker live.
When I asked why I got a generic answer about trying to protect their customers from "penny stock pump and dump schemes" or other reasons which DID NOT apply to ASYT. I also explained that I was able to buy both sub $1 stocks AND stocks with NASDAQ listing issues without the same additional red tape! When I pressed each of these brokers for a specific reason as to why ASYT was on their list of stocks that were in this category, I was never given a straight answer, in fact I was told I wouldn't get one. Oh, by the way, there is no problem or restriction to sell the stock, just to buy it. Tomorrow I try Fidelity and see if I get the same problem.

Rather than add to my frustration by climbing the ladder of people at either of these brokers, I called ASYT and spoke with an investor relations person there and explained my experience. He had no idea that was going on and was very interested in exploring this situation especially in light of the stock being so punished lately.

Does anyone have any insight on this problem, or a similar experience?

Happy new year all, Eric.
