...Thompson will pull out and endorse McCain if he doesn't finish 3rd or better in Iowa.
Recently a reporter asked Thompson whether he had to finish third to continue and he said something like "Yeah... or second." and laughed. It sounded at the time like he was looking for a reason to end the torture of campaigning. Maybe by "or second" he was hinting at a McCain-Thompson ticket?
