As I mentioned on another thread, this is a flawed piece. In his only evidence to support his conclusion that Romney will lose in the general election against any Democrat, Brooks points to polls comparing Romney to... other republicans. The most relevant evidence of Romney's appeal in a general election would be polls of likely voters in swing states matching Romney up with each leading Democrat one-on-one.
