<We can only debase the dollar, run huge deficits, cut fed funds, monetize the back end of the curve,fight unneccessary wars and cut federal taxes further for so long before the shit really hits the fan> Don't look now -- something brown is coming our way. No matter what we do today we have to live with the consequences of past bungling and neglect -- decades of it. Change is needed, but there is no way in coming years to avoid paying for what has already been done. I am slowing realizing that the problem for most people who look at the markets is that they cannot in their heart of hearts face the truth about what has happened to the dollar nor what the future holds for the dollar. And no wonder they can't -- it is just so depressing to see what we thought was our store of wealth melting away day after day.
