In looking at the charts over the past several weeks, it became apparent that the character of many stocks changed, beginning in August, and continuing on into September. During the summer months, the strong stocks had spectacular rises while FSII languished. Then many of the strong stocks either stopped going up, or in some cases, actually went down. By "eyeballing" the group, I picked the last week in August as the "average" point in time when the nature of the strong advance for many stocks began to falter. Comparing the last week closing prices in August with the close today, the following comparisons can be made.
