That has been true ever since Nixon and Lee Atwater founded "the Southern Strategy" to take in the George Wallace dixiecrat segregationists and make them their own. In the 90's Limbaugh types also sided with the paranoid white supremicist militia and NRA radical movements which resulted in Koresh and McVeigh. That is your party, a big party of it, all beholden to their corporate masters in the arms, oil, pollution, banking, timber, mining and health gouging businesses, all the businesses which should be regulated for the public's good.
That is also emphasized now by the GOP pushing the anti Mexican issue as their #1 issue, even though Bush-Cheney's corporate gougers have done us ten times as much harm as illegal Mexicans and Al Qaida put together ever could.
