AMAT announced their entry into solar last year around April IIRC. 2007 was an incredible boom for all solar stocks, and while I think 08 will also be a great year it will not compare with 07. What happened to amat in 07? It was down. So to conclude AMAT is a good way to play solar is pretty lame. Yes they have a solar sub, but it is not enough to couteract their other businesses.
