I think that Miss South carolina whoever she is is probably hundreds of times smarter than the people I heard calling into C-span last night, just by virtue of the fact that a beauty pageant winner is a form of success, and you can't be an idiot and be successful- or at least it is a lot more difficult.

The likely situation for Miss South Carolina is that she wouldn't bother to vote and that is fine. The problem with states like Iowa is the stupid people there think they are achieving some kind of importance in being the first caucus so it is a kind of grandstanding opportunity for unsuccessful people.

This will be solved if we put a bunch of big states as the first primaries, red and blue combined. Huckabee is not a mainline winner, he is an edge candidate.
