Gosh I love it when my eggs are getting old. I make egg salad out of it and eat it for every meal until it's gone. You could buy 1/2 dozen...at least we can here. And I often have produce guy cut melon or cabbage in 1/2 and ask butcher to pack for one or two. One store in my town has meat for one packs. And I also don't hesitate to break up a bunch of bananas, packages of brussels sprouts or broccoli or what ever else is too much for us. I went to the store just now and got away with spending only 28 bucks, and that included a 3$ lotto ticket. I'm with you...........have to get more disciplined. We're having left over pot roast tonight. ;)
