Just what word is he supposed to use to describe the Global Behemoth that is the modern, unrivaled in all history, 'American empire'? Super-duper Mega-opolis Candy-striped Tangerine Rainbow Corporate/Military Global Extravaganza? Somehow the simple and honest word 'empire' seems more accurate. (Despite whatever hurt toes there may be among the Political Correctness crowd who perhaps can't count or else have skipped over their history classes a bit too much.... :-)
