She was severely brain damaged, not brain dead. As you pointed out, her blood family wanted her to not be put to death. There is no good convincing evidence she would have wanted food and water withdrawn from her in the event of being brain damaged. She left no living will or any other writing so indicating.

The fact that the left seems eager to put people down is alarming.
