Dear Metacomet, The problem in the States will be that the Supreme court has said that an essential element of income is Gain. Wages have been declared an equal exchange, therefore no Gain. Capital Gains, dividends and interest are all examples of taxing the Gain, not the principal. Currently in the states, we voluntarily tax ourselves and give up our 5th amendment rights to self incrimination just so we can pay our "fair share" thus saving the Congress the trouble of apportioning the tax.
