VRUS is making an all time H as it trade above its Oct5 & Nov8 Hs of $14.73 <g>

bigcharts.marketwatch.com

It announced the preliminary results of a 4-week PI to evaluate oral dose levels of its R7128 in combination with Pegasys in 50 patients chronically infected with HCV genotype 1.

The study demonstrated potent short-term antiviral activity and was generally safe and well-tolerated. (85% of patients receiving R7128 1500mg and Pegasys plus Copegus achieved undetectable HCV RNA levels following 4 weeks of treatment with safety and tolerability comparable to placebo.)

VRUS' R7128 is a prodrug of PSI-6130, a cytidine nucleoside analogue polymerase inhibitor of HCV that is being developed in collaboration with Roche.

VRUS had a good 4thQ (Sep) with revenues up to 8M vs, 0.54M in 2006 & trimming its loss to $0.08 vs. $0.17

But VRUS is going to have a little harder time in showing similar % improvements on the 1stQ (Dec) since in 2007 it reported $8.1M in revenues vs. $0.83M in 2006 & the earnings were $0.19 on the black vs, loss of $0.15 in 2006

Although the insiders reportedly hold > 35%; the float is < 9M & VTUS doesn't have significant LTD, with expected loss in 2008 & 2009 of > $1 each & the present general market mood, it seems the stock will close today's little UG before it can continue any UM.<g>
