Why isn't everyone looking at the real news. "Intel said they will talk about their .18mu Merced Chip next week, which will be released in 1999 or 14 months". I asked my expert...Do you know if Intel is using Cymer lasers for their .18mu Merced chip? He said... <<Ken, Oh Yeah, they will be using SVGL MicraScan III's, which are exclusively Cymer-based scanners, enhanced by Intel engineers working with SVGL, (a division of SVGI) to coax 0.18 out of a KrF light source. So far, only SVGL claims to be able to do that, others must wait for ArF, which is next year or later for production units--and these again will be exclusively Cymer. How's your patience, and for that matter how's your patients ?>>> I ask the thread, If Intel's Merced is to be out in 99 wouldn't they need hundreds if not thousands of lasers immediately? What would happen to Cymer stock if Intel announced this, or gave out enough information so this could be extrapolated next week? |
