Economist turned whore - I think Krugman is that fellow.

-------------------------------------------------------

In reality, we got a job increase of 18K, not 200K, and an unemployment rate that jumped from 4.7% to 5.0%.....the biggest jump in several years.

That doesn't equate "we are now in recession" as you wish to believe.

-------------------------------------------------------
Do you honestly think I want a recession? A dem is winning the presidential election with or without a recession.

Perhaps you are unaware of your internal motivations, but yes.

------------------------------------------------------

In a country of 300M?????

That's right. Its measures the newly unemployed......not the ones who ran out of benefits months ago. Besides, a 3% increase in the unemployement rate should concern even you.

We've never measured people who don't qualify for benefits have we? People can thus assume anything they want about how many such folks there are.
-----------------------------------------------------

Let me shift the conversation a bit. If we are in recession or headed toward an imminent recession (I consider this a possibility), why would the solution be to raise taxes?
