It was the easiest thing...only thing is you have to be home to let the hambone simmer, unless you want to do it in a crock pot...that might work too.

I simmered the hambone, onions, carrot and celery, with some rosemary...about 4 hours. Took the bone out, and skimmed off those veggies....(the dogs eat the carrots, and lick the celery..at that stage)

I had about 8 cups of broth, and the lentils say to use 2 cups lentils for that much....but I like this soup to be thick so added the whole bag...3 cups lentils.

Broth, bit of salt, and cracked pepper, plus lentils, new celery and carrots, and new ham pieces cook on simmer (gently bubbling) for 20-25 minutes. That's it...it's done.

And reallllly good!
