No they aren't.

The Shia are forming a crescent of powers in the shadows that will initially extend from Iran through Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. How directly that is a threat to us or not is unknown at this point. If they are smart they will develop that power base quietly. If so, it will of course be met at some point by the power of the now developing Sunni crescent to the east which will initially extend from Pakistan through Afghanistan, Turkey, Parts of Syria and Northern Iraq.
