Ed, One more thing while I have your attention. I've been reading Rick Atkinson's second volume of his three volume series on WWII. The first does the North Africa campaign, the second does the invasion of Italy, and the third follows from D-Day forward. This second volume is The Day of Attack, amazon.com It's a stunning body of work if the history of WWII interests you. I've begun to realize just how foggy my own knowledge of it is. Bits and pieces here and there but no connecting narrative. I recommend the first two volumes. But this second volume is much better. The Italian invasion was just a hell hole.
