Petz - Re: " And you don't think Intel is deceitful?"

Let's talk about deceit.

In early September, Jerry Sanders told you me and the world that AMD HAD HAD yield problems, they were mostly solved, and they were now making 150,000 K6's per week. Speed issues - no mention!

"
''Current production of AMD-K6 processors is approaching 150,000 units per week. We plan total fourth-quarter production of approximately 2 million units, or double that of the current quarter,'' Sanders continued. ''We have begun sampling AMD-K6 processors at speeds of 266 megahertz on 0.25-micron technology. We have demonstrated even higher-speed AMD-K6 processors. "

Then at the conference call he admitted yields were STILL BAD and they would need everything to go near-perfectly to ship 2,000,000 K6's in Q4.

WHY - yields were nearly 150,000/week in early September and IMPROVING!

150,000 X 13(weeks/quarter) = 1,950,000 - the 2,000,000 should be a SLAM dunk for Q4.

Now, Petz, you tell me about deceit - you seem to be an expert on the subject.

Then - reread the information on the INTEL iCOMP rating. INTEL WAS THE FIRST to issue a corrective statement - it was INTEL that discovered their OWN ERROR in the compiler they used and publicly acknowledged the errors in prior iCOMP ratings.

ONLY THEN DID any customers decide to take action - AFTER INTEL TOLD THE WORLD ABOUT THE PROBLEM - and NOT BECAUSE CUSTOMERS HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT PERFORMANCE ISSUES.

That isn't deceit, PETZ. That is a company acknowledging its mistake, and accepting responsibility for that mistake.

Ask Jerry what kind of discount he is gong to give stockholders who bought AMD shares between September 1 and October 1. Let me know what the Big J says.
