Maybe it's just a matter of perception.

I've always assumed Hillary's seemingly hawkish vote and rhetoric were like the rest of the dems who got swept into the Iraq thing. To me it didn't indicate anything valid except timidity.

Remember how fast things moved, and nobody pushed back...not the media, not the academics, not the democrats. I've never felt more despondent watching that thing unfold as to me it was obvious where we were headed.

Maybe you think she was hawkish because she is always being asked and interviewed. I don't recall many other dems at the time even being asked about Sadam and terrorism in general.

She's been asked what she thinks every time something happens. The gottcha crews track her since they have always assumed she'd run.
